Education & Outreach

Education and Outreach

As a non-profit arts and education organization, we are committed to providing the community with access to exceptional classical music and music instruction. To maintain the exceptional artistic level of our orchestra and to continue to provide our music education and community partnership programs, we rely on the generous support of individuals, corporations, foundations and governments. Earned revenue, (ticket sales, tuition, etc.) covers only half our operational expenses. Please support our efforts in providing our community with wonderful classical music and music education programs.

Community Partnerships

The RI Philharmonic Orchestra & Music School partners annually with over 100 schools and other community and cultural arts organizations. These partnerships enhance music education programs across our region for over 15,000 individuals and are often supplemented by sequential instruction on a wide variety of instruments at our Music School. Our Community Partnerships programs strive to be relevant and responsive to community needs.

Link Up

Link Up is a music literacy program for students in grades 3-5 that links the classroom and the concert hall. Students receive free instruments and participate in a joyful celebration of their learning by playing with the RI Philharmonic Orchestra every spring. A special partnership with Carnegie Hall’s Weill Music Institute, The RI Philharmonic has served over 30,000 students in our region through Link Up since 2011.

Victoria's Dream Project

Victoria’s Dream Project is a special after school string instruction program for students in grades 3-5 at the Agnes Little Elementary School in Pawtucket, R.I. This program is designed to target the arts opportunity gap and provide students with an immersive experience that fosters and supports their creative, academic and personal growth, while creating pathways to our Music School through private lessons and enrollment in our Youth Orchestras.
